Russell Shackleton is a Board Advisor and Risk Management, Corporate Governance and Strategic Development Specialist. Following an international corporate career; in 2015 he founded and has led Shackleton Consulting Plus to provide training, and consulting to empower executives, boards, and sub-committees of organisations outside of the Financial Services sector. With a systematic approach it enables organisations to achieve their strategic objectives and gain a competitive advantage by improving board effectiveness, developing a culture of good governance, effective internal control, simplified joined up processes, stakeholder centred decision making, and proactive risk management.
He has worked with many industries across the world, including manufacturing, FMCG, retail, automotive, supply chain logistics, food production/services, textiles, infrastructure, telecoms, energy, warehousing, transport, and charities.
Russell has an MBA, from the Henley Business School, along with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified Internal Auditor, and a graduate of the FT-Non-Executive Director Diploma Programme. He is an active member of Chapter Zero, and the Institute of Risk Management.
He is now focused on developing a NED portfolio career. Russell is a Governor and Chair of the Audit Committee at Newbury College, and a Non-Executive Director of Seracares, which is developing an AI tool to support bedside decision making in the care environments.
Russell is passionate about empowering people to achieve their goals and is delighted to be a tutor on the FT’s NED Diploma programme.
