Tony is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (FCA) and has an Economics degree from University of Bristol. He qualified in 1987 and went on to serve in corporate roles for Laura Ashley in the 80s and in more operational finance roles for General Accident’s Property Services business in the 90s. A restructure by General Accident at the end of the 90s saw him embark on an independent career. Interim Finance roles in the early to mid 00s as an Associate of Resources Global Professionals (NASDAQ-listed MBO of Deloitte’s US Management Consultancy business) took him all over the world in a diverse range of businesses including a sub-prime mortgage subsidiary of Lehman Bros, a FTSE 100 manufacturing business (FD for an Italian subsidiary), a software business providing back office systems for banks and Burger King.
In 2007, Tony took a franchise in Executives Online, a leading interim management provider, which led to the development of his own business, Transpire. This offers a range of services to senior executives seeking to build a portfolio career (including NED roles) and Company Director training to SME companies.
He has recently been engaged as Tutor on the FT NED Diploma course and serves as Finance Director for a fast-growing healthcare business and on a number of Charity Boards as well as running Transpire.
